How much do social-networking websites further the cause of better community access to information, atleast among the large connected communities? And how much do they hurt that cause by mis-framing the issues? What about deliberate obfuscations through information-overload?
We think that at the end, the websites contribute positively by bridging the information-gaps and making the uncertain familiar. That is also why our vote-based approach to planning news is important. Anthony Williams of 'Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything' seems to agree.
Hoping to see you at http://www.PlanningNewsVote.com/ .
